WHAT'S BREWING TODAY Friday, June 10 On Today's Scorecard 4Q Croak |
Much has been made of the Warriors' third-quarter domination in these NBA Finals, but there's always one left to play — and the Celtics are owning it. On Wednesday, Boston answered Golden State's 33-point third quarter with a lockdown, 23-11 fourth, sealing a 16-point Game 3 victory and a 2-1 series lead. Even with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson combining for 56 points — their most since Game 7 of the semifinals — the Celtics dominated when it mattered most — and are now two wins away from the Larry O'Brien Trophy. The Celtics have outscored the Warriors 87-47 in fourth quarters this series. They're averaging 29 PTS in the fourth on 53% shooting and 46.7% from three. Meanwhile, they're holding the Warriors to 15.7 fourth-quarter points on 39% shooting and 19.2% from three-point land. Click here for more on tonight's playoff game. |
Trending Today Ham It Up |
On his first day as a head coach, longtime assistant Darvin Ham announced sweeping changes on his L.A. Lakers staff — the firing three assistant coaches, looking at former All-Star Rasheed Wallace for the staff, and he wants to redeem Russell Westbrook. Now that the Lakers have signed Ham as their next head coach (effusively LBJ approved), Los Angeles' Big Three aren't going anywhere — LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Westbrook, who account for $129.6M of next season's current payroll of $146.6M. The trio only played 21 games together last season due to injuries. Meanwhile, Ham's last stop in 11 seasons as an assistant was with the Bucks, where he won the 2020-21 title. |
Grinding Out The Profits The Climb |
Boston's Rich Hill sports a 2.45 ERA with a 0.92 WHIP away as opposed to an 8.04 ERA along with a 1.66 WHIP at home this season. With the BoSox 6-0 in their last six skirmishes with Seattle, we'll be climbing the hill with the Red Sox tonight. |
