    SEC Championship
    By Brian Edwards
    VegasInsider.com

Florida (31-2 straight up, 16-12-1 against the spread) has never beaten Kentucky three times in the same season. The top-ranked Gators will have a chance to pull that trick when they take on the Wildcats in Sunday's SEC Tournament finals at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

ABC will have the telecast at 3:15 p.m. Eastern. Sportsbook.ag was the first book to post a line early Saturday night, opening UF as a 6.5-point favorite.

Billy Donovan's team withstood a game effort from Tennessee in Saturday's semifinals showdown. The Volunteers led by 10 late in the first half before Scottie Wilbekin buried a deep 3-pointer with a few ticks remaining to slice the deficit to 35-28 at intermission.

This opened up an opportunity for gamblers to take UF as a five-point favorite in the second half. This wager translated to having the Gators at +2 adjusted.

It was a sharp play because Florida clamped down on the Volunteers defensively in the final 20 minutes, holding them to just 14 points. With clutch free-throw shooting and a fortunate call(s) that went their way (and then resulted in a technical foul against UT's Jeronne Maymon), the Gators pulled away to win their 25th consecutive game by a 56-49 count as six-point favorites.

Trailing by five in the final seconds, UT missed from deep and fouled UF senior center Patric Young with 2.5 seconds remaining. Tennessee had been ahead of the number (+6) for 39 minutes and 57.5 seconds, but the spread cover was on the line when Young stepped to the charity stripe.

There have been many great storylines around Florida's fantastic campaign led by its four seniors. One of them has been the improvement of Young at the free-throw line. He was in the same exact situation as New Mexico center Alex Kirk was against Boise St. in Friday's MWC Tournament semifinals. With 1.2 seconds left, Kirk missed both free throws with a chance to hook UNM backers with a spread cover.

But Young didn't disappoint bettors on UF, burying both attempts to give UT backers a gut-wrenching loss. The spread cover was the fifth straight for the Gators, who took the cash in a 72-49 win over Missouri in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Kentucky (24-9 SU, 14-15-2 ATS) advanced to the finals by wearing down Georgia in a 70-58 win as an eight-point 'chalk.' Aaron Harrison scored a game-high 22 points thanks to 7-of-10 shooting from the field and 4-of-7 from three-point land. Julius Randle added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Wildcats, who took out LSU in Friday's quarterfinals.

John Calipari's team has seemingly found new life in 'Catlanta, where the Big Blue Nation invades with enthusiasm every March that the city hosts the event. UK had struggled mightily during the last few weeks of the regular season, dropping three of its last four games.

Even worse for our purposes, the 'Cats failed to cover the number in five consecutive contests. Wins at Rupp Arena didn't come easy at all against Alabama and LSU. The Crimson Tide led UK by five at halftime in Lexington.

LSU was on the verge of winning outright at Rupp on February 22. However, with the Tigers leading by two with just a few seconds remaining, Randle was given a bail-out call to put him at the free-throw line. Replays clearly showed that Randle was never fouled and he clearly walked before the (non)-foul was called.

Randle buried both free throws to force overtime and UK eventually captured a 77-76 victory.

In the regular-season finale at Florida, UF sent out its senior-laden squad in style with an 84-65 win as a nine-point home favorite. Young was the catalyst with 18 points and seven rebounds, and Casey Prather needed only five shots from the field (all makes) to contribute 15 points. In the losing effort for UK, Randle finished with 16 points and 10 boards.

These bitter SEC rivals met for the first time at Rupp on February 15. Florida trailed for a good chunk of the game, only to turn it on in the final 10 minutes en route to a 69-59 win as a 2.5-point road underdog.

Prather led the way with a game-high 24 points. In two games against UK this year, the senior slasher has made 13-of-14 shots from the floor. Wilbekin added 23 points. For the 'Cats, Andrew Harrison had a team-best 20 points, while James Young finished with 19. Randle had a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards.

The 'under' is 6-2 in the last eight head-to-head meetings between these programs. The 'under' has been a major money maker in UF games this year, cashing at a 19-9 overall clip. The 'under' is 17-12-1 overall for Kentucky.

    By Covers.com

Kentucky Wildcats vs. Florida Gators (-5.5)

No. 1 Florida looks to win its first SEC tournament title since 2007 when it takes on Kentucky in Sunday's final in Atlanta. The top-seeded Gators have reeled off a school-record 25 consecutive victories and will appear in the conference championship for the third time in four years after erasing a seven-point halftime deficit to beat Tennessee 56-49. Florida finished the SEC regular season with a perfect 18-0 record and can cap off a dream conference campaign with its third win over the Wildcats in just over a month.

Kentucky advanced to the championship game for the fourth time in the last five years with a 70-58 triumph over Georgia. The second-seeded Wildcats are the only school to have won over 100 games in the SEC tournament and hope to add to a conference-best 27 tourney titles with a victory over the Gators at the Georgia Dome. Kentucky has won six conference championships in Atlanta causing its fans to rename the city "Catlanta" as it aims to overcome a Florida team that has won three of the last four meetings.

ABOUT FLORIDA (31-2, 16-12-1 ATS, 9-19-1 O/U): Patric Young poured in a game-high 16 points to go along with eight rebounds as the Gators came back from their biggest deficit of the season (10) to down Tennessee. Casey Prather continued his stellar play by scoring 12 points and dishing out a team-best five assists versus the Volunteers. ABOUT KENTUCKY (24-9, 14-15-2 ATS, 12-17-1 O/U): Aaron Harrison scored 16 of his game-high 22 points in the first half and twin brother Andrew Harrison netted 10 of his 12 points in the final frame to help the Wildcats pull away from Georgia. ACC Championship Betting Preview: Virginia vs. Duke
      By Covers.com

Duke Blue Devils vs. Virginia Cavaliers (+1)

Duke is no stranger to winning ACC tournaments, but the team standing between the Blue Devils and another conference title is in unfamiliar territory. Top-seeded Virginia makes its first appearance in the ACC championship game since 1994 and aims for its second conference tournament title - and first since 1976 - when it faces No. 3 seed Duke on Sunday. The Blue Devils have won six ACC titles at Greensboro Coliseum, the site of the championship game, under head coach Mike Krzyzewski and are looking for their conference-leading 20th tournament title.

The Cavaliers advanced with a 51-48 victory over Pittsburgh in Saturday’s semifinals on Anthony Gill’s two free throws with 8.5 seconds remaining, while the Blue Devils smothered ACC Player of the Year T.J. Warren in the second half of Duke’s 75-67 victory in the other semifinal. The Cavaliers had their chances to beat the Blue Devils on the road in January, rallying from an 11-point deficit to take a late lead before Rasheed Sulaimon’s 3-pointer saved Duke 69-65. Duke leads the ACC in scoring offense, while Virginia features the nation’s top scoring defense.

LINE HISTORY: Line opened as a pick 'em, but quickly shifted to Virginia +1

      INJURY WATCH: N/A

WHY BET DUKE (26-7 SU, 18-14-1 ATS, 14-18-1 O/U): Freshman Jabari Parker looks to cap what likely will be his only college season with a tournament title, having scored in double figures 16 consecutive games while averaging 19.1 points per contest. Sulaimon, who scored 21 points in the earlier victory over the Cavaliers, has reached double figures in five consecutive games. Duke has won nine of its past 11 games.

WHY BET VIRGINIA (27-6 SU, 17-10-2 ATS, 12-15-2 O/U): The Cavaliers allow 55.1 points per game and have held their past 20 opponents to less than 50 percent shooting, limiting the opposition to less than 60 points in nine of the past 10 games. The Cavaliers do not have a player in the top 20 in the conference in scoring, but London Perrantes is third in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio. Gill has scored in double figures in the past three games to provide an offensive boost to leading scorer Malcolm Brogdon (12.4 points).

      TRENDS:

      * Under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings.
      * Blue Devils are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings.
      * Cavaliers are 9-0-2 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
      * Under is 6-0 in Blue Devils last six neutral site games.

      COVERS CONSENSUS:
56% of bettors are backing Duke -1

Big Ten Championship Betting Preview: Michigan vs. Michigan State
        By Covers.com

Michigan Wolverines vs. Michigan State Spartans (-2.5)

Prior to the start of the Big Ten tournament, Michigan coach John Beilein asked his players to imagine what it might be like to watch the NCAA tournament Selection Show with the knowledge it had already claimed an automatic berth. The top-seeded Wolverines will get that chance in Indianapolis on Sunday against Michigan State. “That’s something I personally have always watched and said, ‘I’d like to get my team there some day.’ Now we’ve got one more step,” Beilein told Michigan Live on Saturday.

Michigan almost didn’t get that opportunity, coughing up a 16-point first-half lead to Ohio State on Saturday despite 52.6-percent shooting from beyond the arc before rallying late. The third-seeded Spartans had no such problem in their semifinal victory over Wisconsin, rolling out to a 21-point first-half advantage en route to posting back-to-back wins for the first time since an 11-game run ended in late January. "It was very important to me that we play three games. … And then, shazam, you throw Michigan in there and the championship game and it's Fourth of July on Christmas," Spartans coach Tom Izzo told Michigan Live.

LINE HISTORY: Lines opened at +2.5 for Michigan

INJURY WATCH: Michigan - Cole McConnell (Ques - Foot)

        TRENDS:

*Spartans are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600
*Wolverines are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a S.U. win
*Under is 4-1-1 in the Wolverines last 6 Sunday games
*Under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings

          College Basketball Information

Duke hasn't won ACC tourney since 2011; they won six of nine before that. Virginia is in first ACC tourney final since '95; their last title was in '76. Blue Devils (-6) beat Virginia 69-65 at home Jan 13, getting a lucky bounce on 3-ball from corner for winning shot in last minute. Duke won three in row, 14 of last 17 games overall; they played four starters 31+ Saturday. Virginia is 15-1 since loss at Duke; they played four starters 30+ minutes in physical game with Pitt yesterday.

VCU's Melvin Johnson (14 points/23:00 vs St Joe's) got hurt yesterday, is out here; Rams (-3) lost 69-62 at St Joe's Feb 8. Hawks only turned ball over 12 times that games. VCU won its last six games, five by 11 or more points; they're now 23-7 in last 30 conference tourney games, with three titles in last seven years. St Joe's doesn't have a conference tourney title in last decade, even the year they were undefeated coming in- they played one sub yesterday, before clearing bench in last 2:00.

Georgia State swept UL-Lafayette this season, winning 77-70 (-2.5) on road, then 80-77 (-7.5) at home 22 days ago. Panthers had walkover vs Arkansas State yesterday- ASU played four OTs night before, so they had dead legs. GSU is 22-1 since starting season 3-6, but this game will define its season. ULL won its last three games by total of eight points; with tourney in New Orleans, Cajuns will have crowd edge. ULL last won this tournament in 2005.

Florida is trying to finish SEC play 21-0 this year, hard to do; they beat Kentucky twice already, 69-59 on road, then 84-65 at home eight days ago. Gators haven't lost since Dec 2, already have #1 seed locked up, but this is rivalry game- they held Mizzou/Tennessee to 49 points each in first two tourney games. Wildcats won first two tourney games by 17-12 points after going 3-4 in last seven regular season games; they're 1-3-1 vs spread this season when getting points.

Michigan beat Michigan State twice this season, 80-75 on road, 79-70 at home three weeks ago; Wolverines won last seven games overall, but last three were by total of 8 points- they haven't won this tournament in last 11 years. Spartans' only tourney title since '03 was two years ago; they were up 17 at half over Wisconsin yesterday, are still just 6-6 in last 12 games. Am thinking Ohio State is bigger rival for Michigan than State is, so this game is bigger for Sparty, considering two losses during year.

              Big Ten Championship
              By David Schwab
              VegasInsider.com

A classic rivalry in the Big Ten will be renewed this Sunday afternoon when the Michigan State Spartans tangle with the Michigan Wolverines for this season’s conference tournament title. Tip-off for this championship game is slated for 3:30 p.m. and it will be broadcast nationally on CBS.

The Spartans stumbled down the stretch of the regular season with three straight-up losses in their final five games to fall to the No. 3 seed for this year’s Big Ten Tournament. They drew No. 11 seed Northwestern in the quarterfinals of this tournament and quickly returned to form with a 67-51 romp as 14½-point favorites. The total in that contest stayed UNDER the 122½-point closing line. Next up were the No. 2 seed Wisconsin Badgers in the semifinals and this time around Michigan State was favored by 2½ points. It jumped out to a 17-point lead at the half and held on for the 83-75 victory to advance to Sunday’s title game. The total went well OVER the 137 line in that game.

Against the spread, the Spartans have now paid off in their last four outings and they are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games. The total has gone OVER in five of their last seven contests. Saturday’s win raised their record to 3-2-1 ATS in their last six neutral-site games.

Gary Harris and Adreian Payne have been Michigan State’s top two scorers all season long, but it was Branden Dawson who led the way in the win over the Wildcats with a team-high 16 points. Payne was held to just five points in that contest, but he regained his touch against the Badgers by going 7-for-10 from the field and 2-for-2 from long range to lead his team with 18 points. Dawson was next with 14 points and Harris added 12 points in the win. The Spartans shot 56.9 percent from the field and a deadly 53.8 percent from 3-point range on 13 attempts.

Michigan road a season-ending five-game SU winning streak to the Big Ten regular season title and the top seed for this week’s tournament. After sweating out a tight 64-63 victory against No. 9 seed Illinois in the quarterfinals as 7½-point favorites, the Wolverines clawed their way past No. 5 seed Ohio State 72-69 as 2½-point favorites in Saturday’s Semifinal Round. The total went OVER in both of those contests and it has now gone OVER in six of their last seven games.

Despite all of this success on the court, it has been hit or miss when it comes to betting on the Wolverines. They are 7-6 ATS in their last 13 games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a SU win. Michigan has failed to cover in three of its last five games played at a neutral site.

The big guns in this tournament for the Wolverines have been Nik Stauskas and Glenn Robinson III. Stauskas put up 19 points in the win over the Fighting Illini and he led all Michigan scorers against the Buckeyes with 18 points that included a 4-for-8 mark from 3-point range. Robinson posted a combined 26 point and nine rebounds to help pace the two wins. Michigan has averaged 75 points a game this season while shooting 48.1 percent from the field. It has had its issues under the boards with just 31.9 rebounds a game, but the Wolverines remain deadly from the outside with a 39.8 shooting percentage from 3-point range. Stauskas has converted on 44.5 percent of his shots from beyond the arc this season.

Head-to-head in this in-state rivalry, Michigan has owned things in recent years with a SU 6-2 (5-3 ATS) record in the last eight meetings. It swept this regular season’s series both SU and ATS with an 80-75 victory in late January as a five-point road underdog followed by a 79-70 win as a 1½-point favorite at home on Feb. 23. The total went OVER in both of those contests after staying UNDER in eight of the previous nine meetings between the two. The Wolverines may be the higher seed in this tournament, but they have been opened as three-point underdogs for Sunday’s clash.
