Gonna' start by sayin' on a personal level it pains me to post this as a Vols fan, especially since they've been so bad for decades now, but personal feelings aside - here we go. I've been keepin' track of the Vols & they went to 5-0...then beat Ala to go to 6-0...then a laydown against UTM to go to 7-0. As this was going on I started hearing talks about Hooker & the Heisman, etc... It was then that I looked at the line against Georgia, the Vols were a +13pt dog before last Sat. games were played. Georgia beat Florida & then Tennessee beat Kentucky...big...Sat. night. I stayed patient.
At this point it seems like the whole world was talkin' about the Vols. Then...wham...the 1st CFP rankings come out & the Vols leapfrog the national champs & are ranked #1. The only thing I could think was: WTF??? The committee must be sittin' around doin' shrooms & smokin' some high-grade funk! The next thing I thought of is I remember some years ago something similar happened. I forget who it was & what year but a team jumped up to #1 & then got spanked that weekend. That's what this reminds me of. And one h*ll'uva way to disrespect Georgia.
Wednesday morning I checked & more than 90% of the $$$ were on the Vols+ & almost 100% on the m/l. That line had dropped from -13 to -8. It's hovering at -8' & -9 now. When I saw all the $$$ on the Vols, that's when I really got involved...& then I heard on Weds. evening this:
A sportsbook director in Vegas said: "The Georgia Bulldogs will be the books biggest 'need' all season."
Take that however you want but I'm not takin' it lightly, as I still see the Vols+8' have almost 90% of the $$$ & 99% on the m/l.
