Re: NFL Off Season Rumors, Trades and Coaching News.

Bills acquired QB Matt Cassel and an undisclosed draft pick from the Vikings in exchange for two undisclosed draft picks.
After swinging a blockbuster deal for LeSean McCoy on Tuesday, GM Doug Whaley is back at it again Wednesday. After losing out to the Browns for Josh McCown, the Bills turned their attention to the trade market. It's basically a salary dump by the Vikings, who save $4.75 million against the cap and further clear the quarterback room for Teddy Bridgewater.

A league source told Packer Report's Bill Huber the Raiders are considering offering free agent Randall Cobb "a blockbuster deal."

A source informed ESPN's Josina Anderson that LeSean McCoy is "frustrated" over being traded to the Bills and is "not going to make it easy, that's for sure."

Vince Wilfork announced on Twitter the Patriots will not be picking up his 2015 option, making him a free agent.
New England saves $8.06 million against the cap by moving on from one of their all-time greats. With all of the Patriots' other offseason commitments (Devin McCourty, Darrelle Revis, etc.), Wilfork had to see this coming. Big Vince said he is not considering retirement, and coming off a decent run-stopping season, we wouldn't expect him to.

49ers signed DE Darnell Dockett to a two-year, $7.5 million contract.
The deal includes $4M in the first year but only $2M guaranteed

Multiple league sources tell Yahoo's Rand Getlin that the Dolphins and Colts are poised to make the "strongest pushes" for free agent Ndamukong Suh.

      Saints released RB Pierre Thomas.
The Saints begin the difficult process of cutting veterans amid their salary-cap nightmare. Currently about $20 million over the cap, the Saints save just $1.735 million with this move. Thomas took a pay cut last offseason and went on to total 600 yards with three TDs on 90 touches.

Re: NFL Off Season Rumors, Trades and Coaching News.

Jets acquired WR Brandon Marshall from the Bears in exchange for a fifth-round pick.
This should effectively end Percy Harvin's time with the Jets, as well. The Jets will take on Marshall's $9.575 million cap hit and rid themselves of Harvin's $10.5 million, sliding Marshall in opposite Eric Decker. Marshall now gives the Jets a true No. 1 receiver, allowing Decker to settle back in as a complementary No. 2.

The Colts announced they will not re-sign free agent Reggie Wayne.
NFL free agency is not for the feint of heart. Already this week we've seen the Pats kick Vince Wilfork to the curb, the Steelers practically beg Troy Polamalu to hang up his cleats and now Wayne, an Indianapolis lifer, is being shown the door.

The Dolphins are confident they'll sign free agent Ndamukong Suh, according to the Miami Herald.
Suh is expected to command in the neighborhood of six years and $102 million with over $30 million guaranteed.

Re: NFL Off Season Rumors, Trades and Coaching News.

Seahawks signed RB Marshawn Lynch to a new three-year, $31 million contract.
Lynch's 2015 earnings will be $12 million -- a $7.5 million signing bonus and $4.5 million base salary. As Lynch was previously owed $7 million for 2015, he's gotten a $5 million raise. Lynch is technically under Seattle's control for 2016 and 2017 at $9 million and $10 million, respectively, but neither of those sums are guaranteed

Re: NFL Off Season Rumors, Trades and Coaching News.

NJ.com reports that the Eagles have "serious interest" in free agent Frank Gore.
Per reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks, the interest in mutual, and a deal "could get done as early as Tuesday." Gore is reportedly seeking $4 million per year, the same amount Mark Ingram got from the Saints.

Packers re-signed WR Randall Cobb to a four-year, $40 million contract.
A four-year deal always made the most sense for both the Packers and Cobb. Green Bay locks him up for his age 25-28 prime, and Cobb can hit free agency at 29 years old, shooting for another big contract.

Yahoo's Charles Robinson reports free agent Julius Thomas will become a "major priority" for the Jaguars when the signing period opens on Tuesday.

Saints re-signed RB Mark Ingram to a four-year, $16 million contract.
After playing limited snaps in a committee his first three NFL seasons, Ingram finally broke out when given a featured role in 2014, rushing for 964 yards and nine touchdowns despite missing three games to injury.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Dolphins will sign free agent Ndamukong Suh to a six-year deal worth roughly $114 million with $60 million guaranteed when the signing period opens on Tuesday.

Re: NFL Off Season Rumors, Trades and Coaching News.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Frank Gore's deal with the Eagles will be for three years, and include $7.5 million guaranteed across the first two.
That's a huge gamble considering Gore turns 32 in May, but he's yet to show any real signs of weardown. Philly's pursuit of Gore and Mark Ingram is an indication Chip Kelly wants a more power-based running attack.

I really hoped Dallas could sign Mark Ingram. The Saints got a helluva deal for him. I'm pretty sure there's not much of a shot in hell that the Cowboys re-sign Murray - if JJ is smart. I can pretty much guarantee if Dallas doesn't sign a free agent RB, Gordon or Gurley will be wearing a blue star on their silver helmet in 2015. Jerry loves big name skill players.

San Diego just re-signed CB B. Flowers to a 4 year 36 million dollar deal. That's a lot of money for a guy who made only $3 million last year.

Holy shit - long snappers make 1.1 million per year! Teach your kids now!

                      The Tennessean:
The Titans have agreed to terms on a five-year deal for long snapper Beau Brinkley.
Brinkley, a three-year veteran, has played in all 48 games since joining the Titans as an unrestricted free agent out of Missouri in 2012.
His deal is worth $5.75 million.

Maybe they would consider a trade for Peterson.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports free agent Jeremy Maclin plans to sign with the Chiefs on Tuesday.

Patriots re-signed FS Devin McCourty to a five-year, $47.5 million contract with $28.5 million guaranteed.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Jaguars, Giants, and Eagles all made a "hard push" to lure McCourty out of Foxboro.

Bears agreed to terms with OLB Pernell McPhee on a five-year, $40 million contract.
The deal includes nearly $16 million in guarantees. McPhee played behind Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil last year, but still posted 7.5 sacks, 64 quarterback pressures and 24 quarterback hits while lining up everywhere from nose tackle to defensive end

The Texans have reached a deal with Brian Hoyer, according to NBC4's Dianna Marie Russini.
Aside from maybe the Jets or Bills, no team was more desperate for a quarterback than the Texans. Hoyer certainly isn't a game-changer, but he's about the best Houston could do in a thin quarterback market, and knows the basics of Bill O'Brien's system from their Patriot days.

A source tells Yahoo the 49ers are expecting ILB Patrick Willis to retire.
Earlier Monday morning, PFT's Mike Florio teased a bomb coming out of San Francisco. We now know what it is. Willis is only 30 years old. A report from Bay Area Sports Guy says Willis is hanging up his cleats after recently experiencing a "religious awakening." Willis also has had chronic toe issues in recent years. Maybe he just wants to go out on his own terms

Maybe so, but he better be ready to take a 50%+ pay cut if he wants to play for the Cowboys.
