Steelers coach Mike Tomlin confirmed Ben Roethlisberger (knee) is out for Week 7 against the Patriots.
As expected. Roethlisberger suffered a torn meniscus in Sunday's loss to Miami and underwent surgery on Monday. There's a chance he could be back after the Steelers' bye in Week 8.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Eddie Lacy has "more than a sprained ankle" and is expected to miss "several" weeks.
Some are now expecting Ty Montgomery to get a ton of backfield work Thursday night against the Bears. Randall Cobb may also get some play behind Aaron Rodgers, while newly-acquired Knile Davis will also be in the mix.

Eddie Royal (toe) has been ruled out for Week 7 against the Packers.
Royal injured his toe last week, and the short week was simply too much to overcome. Alshon Jeffery, Cameron Meredith, and Zach Miller should dominate the targets for Chicago. Royal will look to return Week 8.

Coach Chip Kelly said it "would be a stretch" for Carlos Hyde (shoulder) to play Week 7 against the Bucs.
Well, this took a turn for the worst. Hyde injured his shoulder against the Bills, but was able to return to the game. His arm was in a sling Tuesday. Hyde missed 11 games in his first two seasons and has proven to be quite injury-prone. Look for Mike Davis to handle most of the early-down work against Tampa Bay on Sunday, with Shaun Draughn behind him.

Coach Dirk Koetter revealed Doug Martin (hamstring) suffered a setback over the weekend and will not play Week 7 against the 49ers.

LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is questionable for Week 7 against the Dolphins.
Here we go. "We're not ruling Shady out at all," coach Rex Ryan said. "We'll be smart with him, but he looked pretty good [today]." McCoy practiced on Friday but admitted he was "very limited" after straining his hammy on Wednesday and missing Thursday's practice

LeSean McCoy (questionable, hamstring) will travel with the team to Miami.
The fact he's traveling with the team suggests McCoy's a true game-time decision. McCoy doesn't look close to full strength, but Buffalo is reportedly pushing him to play.

Brian Hoyer will have surgery to repair his broken left forearm on Sunday.
Per ESPN's Adam Caplan, Hoyer is expected to miss at least eight weeks. With only nine games left on the Bears' schedule, there's a strong possibility Hoyer will be placed on season-ending IR. Matt Barkley will handle quarterback duties until Jay Cutler (thumb) is ready to return.
