What a bummer on my GS last night Brock as az/col score 4 goals in the 3rd, the last one with under a minute to play to skin me by the half goal, yikes. It looked dead in the early game as the Rangers put in 6 in their 6-2 win over the Bruins. Cruel game sometimes...

Wow how exciting was that, lol. I watched this about 20 times here's my take. Clearly a delayed penalty called but does number 4 from BC touch that puck even before the crease or anytime before it goes into the net, obviously that's the question. It looks like he touched it before heading into the crease but you can't tell for sure and you next see the puck in the blue area beside him but it disappears and is over the line, yikes that's a tough one but you get your moneys worth with that ending Brock

Here's my take Tom:

See the bold face below. So the player wasn't trying to gain possession, so for those who might have thought that, we can eliminate that. Now it becomes a delayed penalty for tripping and a continuation play until Boston College GAINS CONTROL (not touches the puck with the body) and then the whistle would blow, or an action, like the net coming of the pegs, would cause the whistle to be blown. Frame by frame it's clear no possession by BC and the puck cleared the goal line before the net came off. They got it right. This is what replay is meant for, not to see if a receiver caught ball with one foot in and the other 1/100000000000000000000000th on the white chalk. Just a memo to football leagues.



Rule 639 | Tripping/Clipping/Leg Checking/Slew Footing
(Note 1) Tripping is the act of placing a stick, knee, foot, arm, hand or elbow in such a manner that causes his opponent to lose balance or fall.


(Note 2) Clipping is the act of deliberately leaving the feet or lowering the body for the purpose of making contact with the opponent at or below the knees.


(Note 3) Leg check is the act of extending the leg from the front or from behind for the purpose of tripping the opponent.


(Note 4) Slew Footing is the act of a player using his leg or foot to knock or kick an opponent's feet from under him. This is done by pushing an opponent's upper body backwards with an arm or elbow at the same time using a forward motion of his leg causing the opponent to fall to the ice.


(a) A minor or major penalty shall be assessed under this rule for any of the actions described above.


(Note) However, no penalty shall be assessed under this rule if, in the opinion of the Referee, the player was clearly hook-checking or poke-checking the puck for the purpose of gaining possession.

Habs robbed last night by insane goalie play. Outshot them 41-18 in regulation, posted a 76 fenwick for the game and had more than 70% of the expected goals ... And lost in OT. Give it up to hellerb...
